The Exploration Station is an interactive learning space for children to engage in hands-on exploration and discovery. Here education comes alive and children of all ages are encouraged to chase their curiosities and explore their interests. Children and their families, teachers, and other caregivers are all welcome to enjoy this special space. The majority of our exhibits are designed for children between the ages of 2-8 years old, but we encourage people of all ages to explore our exhibits and experience the fun of learning. We have a designated toddler area for little ones, designed specifically for children 36” and under or those who are still learning to crawl and walk.

The museum opened its doors on July 28, 1990 through the efforts of dedicated and inspired volunteers. In late 1987, Marilyn O’Flaherty, a retired Bradley art teacher, presented the concept of a hands-on exploration and discovery museum for the children to the Bourbonnais Township Park District.
