Dr. Edward Piatt

Hello Community Members,

My name is Dr. Edward Piatt and I am honored to serve our community as the Executive Director of the Bourbonnais Township Park District. Our mission at the park district is to enrich the quality of life through education, recreation and preservation. BTPD serves all ages, from preschool to seniors, at our parks and facilities. Our diverse programs and events are open to all and I hope you will experience what we have to offer. We are proud to be a vital part of our wonderful community.

Dr. Piatt began serving as the Executive Director in 2022. Dr. Piatt has a BS degree in Business Management from Purdue University, MBA from Governors State University, and a Doctorate in Ethical Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. He has presented at several national conferences and lectures frequently to organizations on Emotional Intelligence (EI), organizational culture, and leadership strategies, and is an organizational and economic development consultant.

Dr. Piatt retired as the North East Senior Account Manager for the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity and was tasked with representing the Governor’s economic development strategy for the NE region. He has worked in state government for 32 years as a front line manager.

Dr. Piatt is a former adjunct professor of business at Trevecca Nazarene University in the doctoral program and serves as a doctoral advisor.  In addition, he is also an adjunct professor of business at Olivet Nazarene University where he teaches Advanced Marketing, Conflict Resolution Strategies, Leadership, Organization Culture, Legal Ethics in the Organization, and other classes in the MBA and MOL program.
