Living History

A Park District is responsible for the preservation of open space in a community, development of parks and providing recreational programs for all ages.

Our mission is to enrich the quality of life through recreation, education and preservation.  We offer a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and non-residents of all ages.  The BTPD is made up of 4 facilities, Recreation Station, Exploration Station… a children’s museum, Willowhaven Park & Nature Center and Perry Farm Administrative Building. We also have 4 parks, Perry Farm Park, Diamond Point Park, Willowhaven Park & Nature Center and Turnberry Park.

Park History

The Bourbonnais Township Park District developed this plan, with input from the local community, Board of Commissioners and Park District staff, to guide park, facility, and program decisions for the next five years.

This Master Plan ducoment will be used by the Park District as a guide to implementing parks and recreation action items over the next five year. The first two chapters summarize the supporting evidence of those recommendations gained throug the Analyze and Connect phases.  The final chapter is the appendix. The Action Plan in Chapter Two should thought as a "living document" that will need to be periodically re-evaluated and adjusted to reflext completed progject and the community's changing needs.
