Exploration Station will temporarily close Monday, August 24 – Monday, August 31, as staff completes the facility’s annual cleaning and maintenance in preparation for our fall season.
Each year, the Bourbonnais Township Park District dedicates time to thoroughly clean, inspect and prepare the facility before welcoming families back. During the closure, staff will deep clean exhibits and activity areas, complete routine maintenance projects, organize exhibit and program spaces, and ensure the facility is ready to provide a safe, welcoming environment for visitors.
Exploration Station will reopen Tuesday, September 1, at 10 a.m.
“We appreciate our community’s patience during this annual closure,” said Lindsey Paterson, facility manager. “This dedicated week allows our staff to prepare the facility for another great season of learning, exploration and family fun.”
