Bourbonnais Township Park District is thrilled to announce the 12th Annual Scarecrow Contest and Festival, a fall tradition that promises to display community art talents! The event, sponsored by St. Mary’s Hospital, will take place at Perry Farm Park from 11:00 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024. All voting proceeds from the event will benefit a charity to be named.
“This festival is one of the highlights of our year,” said Mike O’Shea, Executive Director of Bourbonnais Township Park District. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate the season, and support a great cause. We’re excited to see the creativity and community spirit on display.”
The Scarecrow Contest is open for registration with a $30 fee, which includes a scarecrow frame. Participants can register in person at the Perry Farm House starting Tuesday, September 2. Categories for the contest include People’s Choice, Business, Non-Profit, School, Youth, and Individual/Family, with cash prizes awarded to winners. Scarecrow set-up will take place on Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19, with check-in at Exploration Station.
In addition to the over 100 scarecrows that will be on display, the festival will feature the Community Arts Council Fall Art Stroll from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy delicious food, and vote for their favorite scarecrow on Sunday, September 21.
All ages are welcome to join in the fun and celebrate the arrival of fall at the Scarecrow Contest and Festival, followed by the Fall Art Stroll, all taking place at Perry Farm Park.
