The Bourbonnais Township Park District is proud to present to you the opportunity to be a part of two wonderful events that take place in Kankakee County. The first event is our 6th Annual Perry Farm Kite Festival. This event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, 2006 at the Perry Farm Park. The second event is our 3rd Annual Klash on the Kankakee, which is a Revolutionary War Reenactment. This event will take place at the Perry Farm Park on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

For those of you who do not know, we would like to introduce you to the amazing world of kite flying. Kiting is a worldwide recreational phenomenon that has been picking up momentum. As members of the American Kite fliers Association, boasting some 4,000 kiters worldwide, the Bourbonnais Township Park District has the only AKA Sanctioned kite competition in the county. The Perry Farm Kite Festival has grown from 5,000 spectators, to a fantastic turnout of 12,000 spectators in 2003. Participants could be found flying their own kite in the public flying field, standing in amazement as they watched the large single line kites float in the sky above, sitting around the sport kite field as they watched the AKA competitions, making a miniature kite with the Miniature Kite Master, Charlie Sotich, bouncing in our Bamboo Bounce House, and plus much more. Obviously this event is attracting more spectators each year allowing for great community support and involvement.

Klash on the Kankakee will present a way of life like you have never seen. This two-day event will consist of 18th century camp life involving soldiers and their families, food, games, activities, demonstrations, skirmishes (small battles), and major battles. The Reenactment of life in the 18th century shows the struggle between British forces and American Colonists in their fight for independence. People of all ages are welcome to come out and participate in all that this great event has to offer and leave with a better understanding of what our Nation went through to win its freedom.

Platinum Package Sponsors - $1500 each
Four Per Festival
This is a fantastic advertising opportunity for any business. All Kite Festival & Klash on the Kankakee promotional materials will bear your name. Included will be a full page of advertising in both event brochures and space to sell your products or promote your corporation at the events. Corporate name will be included in all press releases, radio promotions, and the like for both events. Sponsors also receive their corporate name on a large kite shaped field marker at Kite Festival and on a large cannon ball shaped marker at Klash on the Kankakee designating your participation. The fields are where the entire fun and action takes place. This year we are proud to bring back Sponsorship Row, banner to be provided by business. This consists of banners bearing all the names of our sponsors. Banners will be located in a large area easily viewed by all visitors at both events. Sponsors will receive four wristbands to the Perry Farm Kite Festival, which allows you access to special attractions. Sponsors will also receive four adult admission tickets to Klash on the Kankakee.

At the Perry Farm Kite Festival your corporation will also have the opportunity to participate in the crowd-pleasing Rokkaku kite battle (Please see the description below). Twelve Perry Farm Kite Festival pins will be provided for you and your staff to wear to help announce the upcoming festival. Finally your name will be announced throughout all daily competitions and demonstrations, and of course, the Rokkaku battles through a professional sound system provided by Wizard Productions.

Gold Package Sponsors - $500 (or equal amount of In-kind Donations)

Sponsors will receive a ½ page of advertising in both The Perry Farm Kite Festival and Klash on the Kankakee brochures. A banner will display your name in Sponsorship Row (banner to be provided by business) at both events. Sponsors will receive two wristbands to the Perry Farm Kite Festival, which allows you access to special attractions and six Perry Farm Kite Festival pins. Sponsors will also receive two adult admission tickets to Klash on the Kankakee.

A special feature to the Gold Package is participation in the Rokkaku Kite Battle. This event has become one of the highlights of the festival with all eyes on the sky and your corporation logo. This is a great opportunity to get your staff involved here. This year each Rokkaku battle sponsor will receive a 4-foot, six-sided Japanese Rokkaku battle kite. You will be able to decorate it as you wish and get as creative as possible. Someone from your staff is invited to fly and fight against other sponsored Rokkakus (arrangements for flying lessons can be made). There are kite-flying experts that can battle your kite if you choose. Certificates will be awarded for Most Colorful, Most Creative, Best Staff Support, and of course, Rokkaku Battle Champion. Your corporate name will be announced several times throughout the day and during the Rokkaku battle. This is a great opportunity to rally the team corporate spirit and have employees show up to support your involvement in the Perry Farm Kite Festival's Rokkaku Battle. Rokkaku Battles will take place weather permitting. Rokkaku Kites will be displayed at the Recreation Station prior to the festival.

Silver Package Sponsors - $350 (or equal amounts in In-kind Donations)

This package brings your business to the fields where the entire fun and action takes place. Field sponsors receive their corporate name on a large kite shaped field marker at Kite Festival and on a large cannon ball shaped marker at Klash on the Kankakee designating your participation. Your corporation will receive ¼ page of advertising in the Perry Farm Kite Festival brochure & the Klash on the Kankakee brochure, a banner displaying your name in Sponsorship Row (banner to be provided by business) at both events, and corporate name announced during competitions and demonstrations at the Kite Festival. Sponsors will receive two wristbands to the Perry Farm Kite Festival, which allows you access to special attractions and four Perry Farm Kite Festival pins. Sponsors will also receive two adult admission tickets to Klash on the Kankakee.

Bronze Package Sponsors - $100 (or equal amounts in In-kind Donations)

Sponsors will receive their name listed in the brochures at both events. A banner will also display your name in Sponsorship Row (banner to be provided by business) at both events on either the Saturday or Sunday of your choosing. Sponsors will receive one wristband to the Perry Farm Kite Festival, which allows you access to special attractions and two Perry Farm Kite Festival pins. Sponsors will also receive one adult admission tickets to Klash on the Kankakee.

Other Donations - We will entertain any other denomination of donation as well as products that will help make both of these events a community success. Food & Drinks for our Kiters, Reenactors & Volunteers; golf carts; tents; wooden snow fence; bottled water; food coupons; and so on. Names of donors will appear the brochures of both events.
