PERRY FARM KITE FESTIVAL
April 29 & 30, 2006!

The Bourbonnais Township Park District Perry Farm Kite Festival is proud to be a supporter of Flying 4 Kids - a Statewide Kite Fly sponsored by the Illinois Association of Park Districts. .

This unique event is ALL FUN. Some of America's best kite-fliers and kite-builders will be here to compete and entertain. You'll see kites that defy description, kites dancing to music, fighting kites, and 100 foot long inflated kites,

We are proud to have The Chicago Fire Kite Team, the National Champions again this year, as well as Chromatic Kite Displays, and Charlie Sotich, the Miniature Kite Master will also be visiting to Bourbonnais to create more kiting fans.

Purchase a wristband for $4.00 - a $6.00 value - and get tickets to the following:
* Admittance for 1 to "Kids Miniature Kite Workshop"
* One free Kite Raffle ticket
* Admittance for 1 to "Sled Kite Making Workshop"
* Admittance for 1 to the "Single Line Field"
* One set of bounces in the "Bamboo Bounce House"

Admission to The Kids Miniature Kite Workshop with Charlie Sotich - The Miniature Kite Master" and "Single Line Field" will ONLY be allowed with a wristband ticket package. Other activities may be purchased separately.

FAMILY FUN FLYING

There is plenty of space for you to fly your own kites. Bring your kite, make a kite or buy a kite from the Kite Harbor Kite shop. .

Again this year we will have the benefit of the Kite Hospital sponsored by Microtek. This will be located near the public flying field and they will help you to repair your kite and also to assemble a kite.

KANKAKEE AREA STARGAZERS

Come to the Perry Farm Park on Saturday anytime after 2:00 p.m. to join the Kankakee Area Stargazers. They will have stations setup with varied displays for the guests to view.

OTHER ACTIVITIES TO DO

With so much to do and so many ways to participate, we hope that you will take time to enjoy all that we have in store for you. We encourage you to visit the Exploration Station, a children's museum on-site with 10,000 square feet of hands on exhibits. Admission fees are $5.00 and under per person with children under 12 months are free. You can buy a kite at the Kite Harbor kite store and fly it, you can buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a great kite, you can be a Rokkaku cheerleader or jump for a while on our Bamboo Bouncer. If you decide that you need a break from all the kiting action, take a walk, bike or roller blade on one of the Perry Farm's trails along the historic Kankakee River.

SPORT KITE COMPETITION

The Perry Farm Kite Festival is an AKA-sanctioned Midwest Conference sport kite competition with events for Novice, Experienced and Masters classes. New kiters will be able to become American Kitefliers Association member at the festival. Ann Vondriska Brinnehl, who has been a part of the Perry Farm Kite Festival since its inception will now be seated as chief judge of the competition. The competition categories are below.

  Experienced Individual Dual-Line Precision: DI 04-Launch, Circle and Land; DI 11-Split Figure Eight and DI 13 Steps
  Masters Individual Dual-Line Precision: DI 05-Lap and Snap; DI 09-Octagon; and DI 15-LSI
  Open Individual Multi-Line Precision: MI 07-Arc Circle; MI 09-Clock Tower; MI 15-Pivots
  Open Dual-Line Pair Precision: DP 06-Inverted Eight With Landing; DP 11-Meet Again; and DP 14-Squares
  Open Dual-Line Team Precision: DT 02-Pick-up sticks; DT 11-Cascade; and DT 13-Spin Drop
