Special Events

The Bourbonnais Township Park District host numerous special events throughout the year. Some events such as the Perry Farm Kite Festival and A Night in Sleepy Hollow are unique events run by park district staff.

There are other events such as the Olde Time Farm Show and Mustang Car Show which are held on the park grounds or facilities of the park district but run by another organizations. For more information on these organizations please check out our BTPD sponsored and affiliate groups.

New Year's Eve Celebration-December
Celebrate the new year with this family event at the Exploration Station...a children's museum and free fireworks at the Perry Farm Park!

Wine Tasting & Silent Auction-February
Please your pallet with an assortment of Illinois wines and check out baskets filled with goodies for our silent auction.

Family Fun Fair-February/March
Chase away the winter blues with this indoor children's fair with games, prizes, bouncers, face painting and more.

Easter Egg Extravaganza-March/April
Join in the hunt for candy and toy filled eggs on the grounds of the Perry Farm Park.

Daddy Daughter Dance/Mother Son Date-April/June
Dads and Daughters get all dressed up for this popular dance inside the Park District's Recreation Station. Moms and sons have their own special evening outside at Willowhaven Interpretive Center.

Earth Day Awareness Fair-April
Exploration Station...a children's museum is hosting its annual Earth Day Awareness Fair with a variety of environmentally friendly activities and educational programs.

Dog Day Afternoon- May
You and your doggie are welcome at this special event geared especially for your pooch.

Check out this two-day event that re-enacts battles and other events of the Revolutionary War.

Family Fishing Derby-June/October
Calling all fishermen! We have a new and challenging event for you! It's time to see if you can make the catch of the day at the Whispering Willows Park.

Summer Concert Series-June-July
Tuesday nights come alive at the Perry Farm with sounds of the very best in local and Chicago land entertainers.

Movies in the Park-June-August
Looking for something to do with the whole family? Head out to the Perry Farm Park for a free outdoor movie everyone will enjoy.

A Night in Sleepy Hollow- October
We dare you to venture out to the Perry Farm Park during this evening event to see if you can survive a meeting with the Headless Horseman!

A School Day in Sleepy Hollow-October
This Halloween event is for school and groups only and has kid friendly activities including games, crafts and hay rides.

Turkey Trot 5k & 2 Mile Walk - November This is a unique race because you don't have to be fastest to win. The top 3 males and females to most closely predict their finish time will win a turkey!
