About Us

Our Mission:
To enrich the quality of life through recreation, education and preservation.

General Information

A park district is responsible for the preservation of open space in a community, development of parks and providing recreation programs for all ages.

Who Receives the Park District Resident Rates?
Residents of Bourbonnais Township receive the resident fees charged by the Park District. Residents of Bourbonnais Township are those who live in the Villages of Bradley and Bourbonnais, and all of Bourbonnais Township.

Accident-Injury
The Bourbonnais Township Park District does not assume responsibility for accidents or injuries at any program or on Park District property. It is recommended that participants review their personal insurance policy for coverage before participation in Park District leisure activities.

Information on upcoming Park District activities can be found in The Herald Country Market and The Daily Journal or at the Perry Farm House, 459 North Kennedy Drive, Exploration Station®, 1095 W. Perry Street in Bourbonnais, Illinois 60914, Recreation Station 770 E. Franklin St., Bradley IL 60915, or Willowhaven Interpretive Center 1451 N 4000E Rd., Kankakee IL 60901 or (815) 933-9905. Information can also be heard on WTKC 91.1 FM, WONU 89.7 FM, WVLI 95.1 FM, WGFA FM 94.1, WYKT 105.5 FM, and WKAN 1320 AM radio stations.

Instructor Positions
The Bourbonnais Township Park District is looking for local qualified individuals to teach various recreational and educational classes. If you have a particular skill or you are willing to lead activities, please take a few minutes to call the Park District at (815) 933-9905.

Volunteer Involvement
The BTPD would like to thank the many volunteers who contribute to the success of our programs. Volunteer participation enables the
Park District to offer quality programs for the residents of Bradley and Bourbonnais. If you have a few hours to spare, share them with us and with your community. Call (815) 933-9905 for more information.

Suggestion Box
The Park District is always accepting proposals for new programs. Educational, recreational, and club ideas are welcome. Please submit program idea proposals in writing to: SUGGESTION BOX,

Outdoor Program Cancellation
Outdoor programs may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather or unusable facilities. If deteriorating conditions force on-site cancellations or postponements, that information will be available as soon as possible. Call (815) 933-9905 and press 5 and listen for the automated weather line announcements for cancellation and postponement information.


Photo Policy

The Park District staff, contracted and volunteer photographers periodically take photos of program participants and park visitors. Please be aware that these photos are for Park District use only and may be used in future publications, websites and paid advertisements.

Park, School and Facility Use
Through cooperative agreements, the facilities of School Districts #307, #53, and #61 as well as the facilities and parks of the Villages of Bradley and Bourbonnais are made available for Park District programs. Availability of these facilities are contingent upon cooperative facilities programs. When the Park District programs are scheduled at school facilities, school programs have priority. At various times, programs in schools may be cancelled and rescheduled at the end of the session. The District thanks the cooperative facility representatives for their support! In addition, a special thank you goes out to the Bradley and Bourbonnais Public Libraries as well
as various churches and businesses for allowing the Park District to hold programs in their facilities.

K.O.P.S. (Keep Our Parks Safe Program)
Stay alert for signs and sounds of vandalism in your local parks. If you see someone vandalizing parks, athletic fields, playground equipment or the Perry Farm property, please call the police immediately and report the incident. If you notice park property or
equipment that is broken or has been vandalized, please call the Bourbonnais Township Park District office at (815)933-9905. The situation will be addressed immediately. Bourbonnais Police Department: 937-3577 Bradley Police Department: 933-3315

Park Board Meetings
Bourbonnais Township Park District board meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Exploration Station. For information on specific committee meetings or to get involved with the Park District, call (815) 933-9905. The public is invited to all meetings. Notices of all public meetings are posted at the Perry Farm House.

Lost and Found
Lost and found items are stored at the Perry Farm House and the Exploration Station®. Items can be retrieved during the regular business hours of each facility respectively. Lost items are kept for a period of 30 days and then disposed of.

After Hours Drop Box
The Bourbonnais Township Park District has an after hours drop box for the convenience of park visitors. Whether it is a program registration, customer concern letter or correspondence for a staff
member, you may now deliver it to the Perry Farm House after our regular business hours. We check the drop box daily.
